OpenTeam Registration Information

OpenTeams and all-femaleTeams

Registration for the 2012 PADDLEforCANCER will open on March 1st, 2012.

OpenTeams are made up of keen Dragonboaters from all walks of life, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, etc who all enjoy Dragonboating for an amazing amount of reasons.

To enter an OpenTeam:

There will be two categories of OpenTeams - mixed gender and all female.

For the mixed gender teams, a minimum of 4 female paddlers is required in the boat when racing.

• No restrictions on individual team members in terms of employer

• A minimum number of 4 female paddlers in the boat and paddling when racing as a mixed-gender team

• Team members must be 16 years of age or older

• Teams may consist of up to 20 members (16 paddlers, 1 drummer and up to 3 substitutes)

• Some teams may consist of employees of one workplace who simply wish to race as an OpenTeam.

Some examples of OpenTeams include:

Breast cancer teams, students from the University or high schools, workplace friends whose business doesn't sponsor their team, clubs, friends and more.

Registration fee is a minimum of CHF 2000 per team and must be paid by April 30th, 2012. 

Additional fundraising is encouraged and all funds raised should be in by August 30th, 2012. 
Fundraising Forms are available for download for those wishing to seek individual pledges for fundraising.

Registration for your team can now be completed online. The Team List and Waiver Form is available for online completion and email submission. The same forms can be used for both Corporate and OpenTeams.

Once the Team List and Waiver Form has been completed and submitted, please print a copy and have it signed by all team members. The signed copy of the form is required when registering your team on the morning of the festival.   

Financial Remittances

Registration fees must be paid to ESCA no later than April 30th, 2012.

A team place is not guaranteed until fees are paid.
