COVID-19 UPDATE

ESCA CancerSupport Paddle for CancerSupport Festival Statement
Future Editions CANCELLED until further notice due to
continued COVID-19 restrictions.

Cancer doesn’t stop, neither do we

ESCA CS is acutely aware of the continuing situation concerning COVID-19 and its possible impact on the Paddle for CancerSupport Festival.

We wish to keep our clients and supporters as safe as possible. This underpins all our actions.  We have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel our Festival until further notice. We have not taken this decision lightly and feel it is in the best interest of those we serve.

We hope that the measures enacted by the Swiss Authorities will bring the spread of the virus under control soon.  We will do our part to continue with all precautions and restrictions.  We certainly hope to be able to have the Festival again in the future – even bigger and better!

We need your help now more than ever!

We recognise and know that these are challenging times for everyone in a variety of ways and that many people are now working from home – this is also the case for ESCA CS.

It is difficult to imagine the many concerns that our clients will have at the moment – will cancer treatments continue, is it safe to go to hospital to have these treatments, not being able to visit in person family and friends who provide much needed support.  It means having support available is even more important than before.  ESCA CS is working extra hard to make sure people know they are not alone even though we are all apart, “self-isolating”. We want to make sure that no one faces cancer alone.

Almost all of our support services are now online, including individual counselling and our well-being activities such as yoga, Pilates and gym. Our trained and supervised Peer Supporters are continuing contact with their clients also via phone or other messaging services.

The Support Team is in contact with all of our clients, and we have increased our social media messages and are sending regular messages to our volunteers to keep them engaged.  Maintaining the support services, even virtually, is vital to so many.

Many of our smaller fundraisers have been postponed and will more than like be cancelled, as well as awareness events such as the illumination of the Jet d’Eau. This means we need your help now more than ever.

Your DONATION would be greatly appreciated.

We sincerely hope that the spread of the disease will abate for everyone’s sake.

Thank you for your understanding…… and don’t forget to wash your hands!!
